Preparing for Your Home Visit

To help us give you the most accurate valuation, it is worth gathering your items together before your appointment. You do not need to clean or polish anything -- we assess items in whatever condition they are in. If you have any paperwork, certificates, receipts, or original boxes, please have those to hand as they can add value, particularly for luxury watches and certified diamonds.

There is no minimum or maximum number of items for a home visit. Whether you have a single gold ring or several boxes of inherited jewellery, our valuer will take the time to assess everything properly. Most home visits last between 30 minutes and an hour depending on the number of pieces.

If you are selling on behalf of someone else, for example as part of a probate or estate clearance, we are experienced in working with solicitors and executors and can provide formal valuations where needed.

2. We arrange a home visit at a date and time that works for you
3. Our valuer arrives on time, assesses your items, and explains the valuation clearly
4. You receive a fair offer with no pressure and no obligation
5. If you accept, same-day payment is made by bank transfer or cheque

The quickest way to get in touch is by phone or WhatsApp. We aim to respond to all enquiries within the hour during business hours (Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm). If you prefer email, we typically reply within 24 hours on working days. Please include a brief description of the items you would like valued so we can prepare properly for your visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you arrange a home visit? We aim to arrange most home visits within 48 hours of your enquiry. If you need a same-day or next-day visit, contact us by phone and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Is there a minimum value for a home visit? No. We are happy to visit for any quantity or value of items. There is no minimum spend or threshold.

Can I get a rough idea of value before booking? Yes. Send us a few photographs by WhatsApp or email and we can give you a preliminary estimate. However, a hands-on assessment with our testing equipment will always give you the most accurate figure.

Do you cover my area? We provide free home visits across Dorset, Hampshire, West Sussex, the New Forest, and the Isle of Wight. If you are further afield, ask about our fully insured postal valuation service.
